Astrobiology is a substudy of astrophysics, that examines Goldilocks conditions of the Habitable zone (CHZ) in the Solar System. The dicipline was first applied in prepping astronaughts for zero gravity space to ensure safety, health, and wellbeing. Astrobiology studies broadened, after discoveries of ice formations were found by probes throughout the years, after observing various astronaumical terrain bodies with water signatures (ie. Mars, and natural satellites like Europa).

Astrobiology also compares Goldilocks conditions and Habitable zone models to extrasolar systems. Applied thought experiments by researchers, speculate what extraterrestrial life would be like outside of our Solar System (ie. Alien appearance and Alien intelligence).[1]
