- AI, a concept in possible alien advanced technology
In the early 1980s was the revival of connectionism, a concept in artificial neural networks, in the work of John Hopfield and David Rumelhart. Artificial intelligence (machine learning) achieves success in the AI program called "expert systems". It was adopted by corporations around the world where knowledge representation became the focus of mainstream AI research. By 1982, the Japanese government aggressively funded AI with its fifth generation computer project.[1]
